All the Stylish Ways to Wear a Hoodie

Lazy dressing never looked this good.
All the Stylish Ways to Wear a Hoodie
Lazy dressing never looked this good.

There's no denying that hoodies are your best friends when it comes to lounging around on a slow rainy day, along with sweatpants and a good movie. After all, they're warm, comfortable, and you never have to think about how to wear them indoors. Although the same can't be said for when you're out and about, and while there's absolutely no problem with lazy dressing in a sweatshirt and leggings, street style has proven time and again that it is possible to elevate your jacket beyond the couch or gym look you've got going.

Check out 16 ways to stylishly wear your hoodies, below!

Elevate your athleisurewear and take them out to the streets by copping yourself a matching hoodie and track pants set, paired with a tailored trench coat as seen on Bea Marin, below!

Not much for a sporty get-up? Take the look above for a different spin instead, much like Janine Gutierrez in a green trench coat layered over a cropped hoodie and frayed denim jeans. Forego your white sneakers for a pair of black boots to take the look up a notch.

Peek Liza Soberano’s less cropped, and more casual version, below. Don’t forget to put on a pair of tinted sunnies to accent your outfit.

Here we have Sue Ramirez channeling the iconic Ariana Grande style by teaming an oversized hoodie with nothing but thigh-high booties. Take this perfectly lazy outfit from couch potato chic to edgy glam by accessorizing with fish nets, a choker, giant hoop earrings, and a whole lot of eyeliner

Make an impression in vibrant co-ords and striped, colored socks worn over your leggings just like Ida Anduyan, below. Tie your flashy look together with a fanny pack, preferably in a neutral shade to avoid clashing with the rest of your already colorful ensemble.

If you’re not much for color, cook up a casual yet sophisticated look for the winter season by building an all neutral-toned outfit. See Aimee Song’s ‘fit below in her muted blush hoodie, brown sherpa leather jacket, and white flared jeans, complete with camel-colored boots.

Throw it back to the ‘90s in a midriff baring cropped hoodie, and low-rise flared jeans to really show off your abs. Finish off with a pair of white sneakers, and a patterned jacket for that extra kick this otherwise casual outfit needs.

Lazy office fashion, anyone? Don’t worry we’re keeping it to our clothes! Go the slouchy route and team your hoodie with black trousers in a lengthy hemline. No need to fold! Just let them drop down to meet your chunky sneakers. Dress up the ensemble with a blazer and you’re good to go!

Looking for a more feminine hoodie plus blazer look? Try out both pieces layered above a turtleneck, and finish with bright colored palazzo pants. Bonus points for accessorizing with a thick headband that matches your turtleneck to allow the color to pop, though only barely visible.

If you think simply matching your hoodie with tailored shorts will come off as basic and boring, you can easily inflect more kick to your look by putting on a pair of ankle boots. To make sure you come off more put-together, try color coordinating your jacket to your shoes.

For a more summer-friendly attire, get yourself a light sheered jacket topped over a black cropped tank. Spice up your athletic look with animal-print leggings, and finish with white chunky sneakers.

Try some two-tone! There’s just something sleek and sophisticated about an all-white outfit, teamed with brown accents like the look below. Plus, nothing will elevate your hoodie more than a nice fur coat and a pair of smooth knee-high boots.

While we’re still all aboard the bike shorts trend, if you can’t fully take your innerwear to the outdoors (sports bra and all), just throw on a hoodie, accessorize with a fanny pack, complete your look with sneakers, and you’re good to go on your morning run (or coffee). The outfit’s appropriate for both, either way.

Want to go full on rocker chick? Who else to take inspiration from than lead vocalist, and certified metal-head, Arci Munoz! Take a black hoodie paired with bike shorts, and nail your edgy aesthetic with killer black combat boots along with a distressed denim jacket. If it wasn’t obvious yet, there’s absolutely no way to fail at this look as long as you stick to the all-black color scheme.

Okay, let’s be honest, we can’t all actually be comfortable going out in tight cycling shorts. For a slightly more glam iteration of the edgy look above, sans bike shorts, try tucking in your hoodie into leather pants instead. Plus, we’re totally loving the two-tone color combination on this one.  Complete your ‘fit with a black handbag and heeled ankle boots for a feminine touch.

Rock a retro look by taking your oversized hoodie and styling it over a pleated midi skirt. Elevate this potentially slouchy outfit by accentuating with dainty accessories like a pearl necklace, and a set of rings, to also help draw attention to your arm-candy.

Now you've learned a few styling tricks to dress up your hoodie, start off your collection with a few basic, easy to style options, below!
