The Korean Wave, also known as hallyu, has taken the world by storm—from the K-dramas that we’ve gotten fixated on, to the K-pop music that has made its way to our playlists. And what do these actors and idols have in common? Two words: Glass skin.

For the skin to resemble the surface of glass, many Korean products are focused on hydration that can help achieve a smooth, dewy, and radiant complexion. On top of skincare, South Korea is also responsible for many beauty trends such as gradient lips, sheer glitter over the eyes, and the adorable aegyo sal. The world still can’t seem to get enough of the country’s innovations, and the industry only continues to prosper.
