Simone Ashley, Meryl Streep, and Ciara behind-the-scenes for "The Devil Wears Prada 2"
Filming for The Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently underway, and anticipation is at an all-time high. Behind-the-scenes snaps have been pouring out of New York City, where cast members Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep, and Stanley Tucci have been spotted reviving their iconic characters. While fans are divided on the movie being semi-spoiled by paparazzi, the costumes donned by the cast have already been gaining much attention.

In a fictional gala sequence filmed on the steps of the Museum of Natural History, cast newcomer Simone Ashley was spotted donning formal attire and holding a sculptural black clutch. The handbag's design was enough to steal the scene, but what's even more noteworthy is that it's actually made by a Filipino designer!

A blue carpet was rolled out on museum steps as characters gathered for an evening themed by "Spring Florals" (Groundbreaking, we know.) While not much has been revealed about Simone's character and her story, it won't be too far-fetched to assume that she attends the event as one of Miranda's new assistants—her new Emily, you could say. Of course, such a job title entails one to be well-dressed, and she aced the assignment in a Jean Paul Gaultier LBD and sparkly black tights.

In one photo, she's seen right by Miranda's side with two totes in hand, presumably holding the other for her boss. Namely, they were a monochromatic Bulgari Cuore and a Rafe New York minaudiere. The latter is proudly Pinoy-made, designed, and owned by Rafe Totengco. Filipino fashion in The Devil Wears Prada universe? We'd love to see it!

Notably, the sequel's wardrobe is curated by Molly Rogers, who also served as the costume designer for the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That. Under her supervision, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) carried another Rafe piece, which could explain why the brand found its way to the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2.

On Instagram, Rafe was joyous over the cameo of his work, so much so, that he's decided to reissue it in a limited quantity. Interested buyers can send the brand an email to get on the waiting list, so make sure to shoot that message stat! In case you're curious, an online designer rental site has the exact design listed for $595 or about P34,000.
