"The Devil Wears Prada 2" Is Happening—And This OG Cast Member Isn't Returning
Andy Sachs must've went through a major lifestyle change in the last 20 years.

Gird your loins, ladies, because the devil is back in the building. Twenty years since it impacted the global conversation on fashion and publishing, The Devil Wears Prada is officially getting a sequel. Tentatively titled as The Devil Wears Prada 2, the film will revolve around the events after Andy Sachs' resignation from Runway, and the shifting landscape of the magazine industry.
With the original film regarded as a Bible for many stylistas, the sequel's announcement comes with much anticipation, to say the least. Most of its original cast members will be making a big screen comeback, save for one actor who played quite a pivotal role in Andy's precarious career life.

What We Know So Far About "The Devil Wears Prada 2"
In case you needed a refresher, the devil referred to in the movie's title is Miranda Priestly, the stone-cold editor-in-chief who puts newbie assistant Andy Sachs through living hell. The film's depictions of the volatile nature of the publishing industry resonated with many viewers, which only adds more excitement to the upcoming sequel. The good news for OG fans is that Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci will all be returning to reprise their respective iconic characters.

The follow-up's plot is said to narrate the decline of the magazine industry over the past two decades, which puts Miranda in a compromising position. While it's still unclear what part Andy will have in the story, she will have a different relationship status from when we last heard of her. Entertainment Weekly reports that Adrian Grenier, who played Andy's boyfriend Nate, will not be joining the sequel's cast.
No reasoning has been provided to explain Adrian's absence. At the end of the first movie, his character and Anne's get back together after briefly breaking up, largely due to Andy's lifestyle change upon becoming a Runway girl. So will the beloved main character be debuting a new beau in the upcoming film? Or will she be a Miss Independent? We'll have to wait and see!

20th Century Studios officially announced that The Devil Wears Prada 2 is in production through an Instagram Reel posted last July 1. The film is expected to premiere on May 1, 2026. That's all.
