The first ABS-CBN Ball was a spectacle of evening finery, especially now that the previous Star Magic Balls' black-and-white dress code has been waived. The stars reveled in the freedom, and we found a lot more room to spy a wider range of red carpet trends! Here are the top six we spotted:
Swing, swing! This year's abundance of shine and fringe was the best kind of Boomerang fodder. We especially liked Sue Ramirez's flapper-esque interpretation! She'd fit right into one of The Great Gatsby's grand fêtes seamlessly.
Pale pink's great, but how about something even punchier? Fuchsia—whether ribboned, one-shouldered, or sequinned—was the pop of choice last night, and it looked even better set against the red carpet.
Risqué. Daring was another keyword, manifesting in the vertigo-inducing slits seen on quite a number of ladies. What better way to show off those sexy stems?
Midnight blue is so wonderfully reminiscent of dawn-kissed skies—something these girls channel to perfection. They are, after all, stars.
Sugary shades and cotton candy hues were abundant, too! Coming in the form of gossamer confections like the ones here, we don't blame the awestruck crowd for catching a serious sweet tooth.
Check out these beauties poured into liquid gold and silver. High shine's been redefined—it's blinding, but we don't think you mind.
