Over the past few months, fashion has played its own game of musical chairs, with creative directors shuffling in and out of the industry’s most storied maisons. Exits came as frequently as debuts, each shift reshaping design codes and signaling new directions. At Gucci, Sabato de Serna’s departure marked an opportune moment for reinvention—one soon answered by the bold stylings of Demna Gvasalia.
But before the Italian label’s full “Demna-fication,” Gucci’s in-house design team was tasked with presenting the Fall/Winter 2025 collection. Created in the middle of this transitory chapter, the lineup sought to honor both past and future, appealing to purists and experimentalists alike. Among the pieces to debut during this moment of sartorial limbo was the Beatrix—a bag that nodded to house classics while embracing a distinctly contemporary edge.
Meet the Beatrix, Gucci's Quintessential Carry-All
As with all of Gucci's presentations, their F/W 2025 collection was anchored on spezzatura—an Italian code for "studied effortlessness," or a way of living that embraces, and highlights, even, the imperfections of the everyday. Their seasonal offerings embodied such ideology through pieces that roll with the times, yet are still notably and undeniably Gucci.
"At once universal and personal, Gucci embodies a variety of expressions," the design team writes about the show, "with its clothing and accessories, its particular style, adapted and evolved through generational shifts, moving from then to now and to the future, traveling through time."

This manifested through tactile and textural garments, liberal color blocking, and a certain nonchalance in both silhouette and style. A debutant on the GG-shaped runway was the Beatrix, characterized by its languid, hobo-inspired shape and the Horsebit detail defining its shoulder strap. As models descended down the catwalk, the Beatrix became a character of its own; a manifestation of craftsmanship that can easily assimilate into the Italian's devil-may-care lifestyle.
The Beatrix is not Gucci's first entry into the slouchy bag renaissance. With the overwhelming return of oversized totes that can support those in the workforce, the brand has introduced the Aphrodite and the Giglio in past collections. The Beatrix follows suit, albeit with more low-key Gucci-ness through its hardware. It's still a mystery which Beatrix the piece gets its name from, but it's largely believed that it simply refers to strong, feminine figures.
How Much Does the Gucci Beatrix Cost?
As of the time of writing, the large iteratio of the Beatrix retails for over P192,000. It measures 15.7' in width, 14.2' in height, and 4.7' in depth, and comes in five colorways, including a monogram suede one.
If you require something a bit on the petite side, the medium version measures only 13.8' in width, 10.8' in height, and 4.3' in depth. Both sizes come with the adjustable strap, which carries the gold-toned Horsebit.
Celebrities Wearing the Gucci Beatrix
The Beatrix swiftly found its way to the closets of style icons around the world, Pia Jauncey included. As someone who's constantly on the go, an extra-large, matcha-hued version proves to be a worthy companion.
For gals who are always on the move, a hefty tote like the Beatrix is a must-have. Take it from Kylie Verzosa, who opted for a brown colorway to complement her all-denim 'fit.
Showcasing how the Beatrix can pair with even the simplest of outfit combos, Anne Curtis wore the piece with a simple white top and jeans. Peep the monogram coordination between her bag and ballet flats, too!
To add some spring to her step, Janine Gutierrez opted for a lush green Beatrix to accent her floral blouse and jean shorts 'fit.
By now, you can tell that the verdant version of the Beatrix seems to be a crowd favorite. As seen on Gabbi Garcia, it adds a delightful pop of color to a black-on-black moment.
Outside of the Philippines, the Beatrix has also enamored Gucci ambassadors and Thai darlings Davika Hoorne and Milk Pansa. The green version also gets lots of love from other Asian style stars, namely, South Korea's Park Gyu Young, Vietnam's Ho Ngoc Ha, and Thailand's Gap Panitipad. Meanwhile, the classic black one proves to be a closet staple, as worn by Malaysian singer Daiyan Trisha and Thai actress Bow Maylada.
Shop the Beatrix in Gucci boutiques located at Greenbelt 4 in Makati, Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong, Solaire Resort in Paranaque, and NuStar Cebu. Check out more of Gucci's offerings on gucci.com
