For its Cruise 2026 collection, Gucci pays homage anew to the house’s storied legacy. Staged in Florence, its birthplace and a wellspring of inspiration, the show marked a return to the brand’s foundational codes. Helmed by the brand's creative studio, the collection leaned into archival silhouettes, with fluid tailoring offset by structured forms, all rendered in tactile materials and adorned with sequins, beads, and opulent featherwork.

Equally noteworthy was the frequent use of the GG monogram, which appeared across diaphanous skirts, crystal embellishments, and statement accessories. One such accessory, which quietly stole the scene, was the Giglio bag, the latest addition to the brand’s lineup of carriers. While its name—the Italian word for “lily”—references one of the house’s enduring emblems, the Giglio’s straightforward, utilitarian design captures the essence of Gucci’s current sensibilities: rooted in tradition and reimagined for the present.

Debuting in Look 26 on the runway, the Giglio made its first appearance carried by a model in a cream-toned ensemble, with its curved lines and softened structure complementing the look's sharper silhouettes.

Ahead, get to know more about the Gucci Giglio bag, and why it's becoming a fast favorite among the country's style-conscious set.

What Is the Gucci Giglio Bag?
The Gucci Giglio is an homage to the House’s Italian heritage and its continuous cycle of evolution. Its name draws inspiration from the Italian word giglio, which translates to “lily”— the emblem long associated with Florence, the brand’s birthplace. Echoing this botanical symbol, the bag’s softly rounded form mimics the gentle curvature of a lily’s petal, flaring upward in a bowl-like silhouette. With its extended crescent-shaped handle, the tote can be carried comfortably by hand or slung over the shoulder.

Offered in two variations—one in the house’s iconic GG canvas and another in denim—the spacious carryall is designed with both form and function in mind. Measuring 16.5” wide (23.6” including handles), 18.5” high, and 6.3” deep, it’s built to hold everything from laptops to daily must-haves—even a spare outfit. Subtle gold-toned hardware, paired with a bi-colored Web trim, gives the bag an instantly classic look. Inside, the open top is fastened by a magnetic closure and complemented by a cotton-lined interior, complete with a removable pouch in a matching GG monogram motif.

Needless to say, the Giglio has all the makings of a highly wearable (and functional!) everyday tote.

In a campaign shot by Daniel Arnold, Emily Ratajkowski is seen embracing a sunlit escape along the French Riviera in Cannes, France, styled in pieces from Gucci’s latest collection. Wearing a red printed jersey swimsuit and a scarf wrapped around her waist, the American model-actress carries the Giglio tote in GG canvas— an image that evokes the carefree spontaneity of a summer retreat, with the Giglio as the ideal companion for everything you might need along the way.
