1. He’s a Capricorn.

In Youp was born in Seoul, South Korea on January 19, 1991. Yep, you read that right. Despite playing a high school student in True Beauty, this baby-faced charmer is actually 30 years old!

2. His Instagram handle is @hi_high_hiy.

Fans of In Youp will be delighted to know that he’s been quite active on Instagram as of late thanks to his current K-drama. 3. He started out as a model.

Much like a number of Korean actors, In Youp started out in the industry as a fashion model in 2017. Reports state that he was once also under YG KPlus, a model management company under YG Entertainment, one of the big three idol companies in South Korea.

4. He made his acting debut in a web series.

In Youp’s acting debut came in 2018. He first starred in the web drama WHY, a rom-com about a 20-year-old who gets dumped by his girlfriend on their 100th day anniversary. Not long after, In Youp was once again cast for an online show titled Freshman in 2019. The university-based web series depicts the lives of college students as they struggle to become insiders in their new school.

5. His first K-drama role was for "The Tale of Nokdu."

In Youp finally bagged a small screen role in 2019 for the historical drama The Tale of Nokdu. There he played Park Dan Ho, a swordsman and assassin who also acts as the right-hand man of the show’s main antagonist. The lead cast of the series included Jang Dong Yoon, Kim So Hyun, and Kang Tae Oh

6. He appeared in the Korean remake of "17 Again."

Remember 17 Again, a.k.a. the Hollywood teen movie that starred Zac Efron? Well, it actually has a Korean version and the remake’s a whole series too! In Youp booked a supporting role on the show as Goo Ja Sung, a basketball player who also happens to be his school’s top dog and resident bully.

7. He’s an introvert.

In a recent interview with Vogue Korea, In Youp admitted to being an introvert, so much so that it actually took a lot in him to step out of his comfort zone and try out modeling. “I went to see movies with my parents a lot, but I’m very introverted, so I needed a lot of courage just to try out the idea of becoming a model. As I modeled, I gained confidence, and I chased my dream of becoming an actor,” he said.

8. He got a motorcycle license for "True Beauty."

During a press conference for True Beauty, In Youp shared that he actually had to get a motorcycle license for the show in order to truly embody his character’s bad boy persona. Oh, and he took up action lessons, too! “Also, since my character is an idol trainee, I’m also separately working hard at practicing singing,” he added.

9. He’s handled by KeyEast Entertainment.

As for his agency, In Youp is currently being managed by KeyEast Entertainment. Other fellow actors under the company include Kang Han Na, Ju Ji Hoon, Kim Dong Wook, Woo Do Hwan, and his True Beauty co-star Moon Ga Young. The latter actress shared that she was “surprised” upon hearing In Youp speak for the first time during their first script reading, stating that she liked his voice.

10. He’s finished his military service.
