The beaming glow that K-beauty is famous for has a name, and it's not dewy skin. Their 10-step routines are apparently designed to achieve something called "glass skin," which is basically glowing skin but bumped up to a whole other level.

"Glass skin is a skin ideal in Korea," Glow Recipe founders Sarah Lee and Christine Chang tell Allure. "It means skin that looks clear, poreless, translucent, [and] luminous—like a piece of glass." Think skin that's so hydrated and dewy it catches the light on its own, an ultimate sign of youthfulness.

That said, the thing about glass skin is that even those with naturally good skin have to work their way up its glowing ladder. "It's not something you get overnight—it's consistent skin care that gives you that refined texture, the pinnacle of youthful skin," adds Alicia Yoon of Peach and Lily.
