They say that when a woman is going through something life-changing, one of the first things she changes is her hair. For one, it makes a big difference in both one’s appearance and outlook. Two, it’s a fairly easy and usually inexpensive modification. And three, hair always grows back to its natural form at some point.
Now if Seo Ye Ji’s symbolic cut at the end of episode 7 of It’s Okay To Not Be Okay has grown on you in the way that her fashion sense has, we’re here to tell you that it’s best to seek the help of a good hair stylist to cop her crop. While she had the help of Kim Soo Hyun’s character Moon Gang-tae, achieving Ko Mun-young’s cool lob is not so easy to do yourself.
Preview asked master cutter Henri Calayag of Henri Calayag Salon for some insight. “A bob cut may look easy to cut, but it’s the most precise and tedious haircut to do,” he says. “One secret of a good bob [or lob] is in the thin, fine sectioning, so that it will come out as blunt. Also in following the curvature of the neck to the jaw and chin.” They do say that drawing a straight line, or a perfect circle, is one of the most difficult skills to perfect.
