One of the beauties of getting a tattoo is the design can be anything you want them to be. You can opt for a simple doodle or even an intricate motif—the sky is the limit! Regardless of what you choose, each tattoo will hold its own unique story. This is why tattoos are the way to go if you want to preserve those meaningful moments or pay homage to special people in your life. Several celebrities have their own tattoos to prove this, and ahead, we compiled a list of eight who dedicated their inks specifically to their loved ones.
8 Filipino Celebrities with Tattoos Inspired by Their Family or Significant Other
1. Marian Rivera
Dingdong Dantes' marriage proposal to Marian Rivera back in 2012 was the beginning of their journey as a power couple. Fully aware of Marian's love for butterflies, Dingdong first proposed to the actress in the Butterfly Pavilion in Macau, China. To immortalize that unforgettable memory, Marian got a beautiful butterfly tattoo on her nape, and according to her, it symbolizes just how much he loves her.

2. Neil Arce
If you want to go for a big and intricate motif, you can go to Neil Arce for inspiration. Neil got a tattoo of detailed angel wings on his chest, which is obviously dedicated and fitting for his wife Angel Locsin. According to the film producer, this is the first tattoo he ever got for a girl, but it's worth the risk because he knows he’ll spend forever with Angel.
On Instagram, Angel reposted Neil's vlog about the tattoo and joked, "Kung para sakin talaga yan, ba’t hindi tattoo sa kilay ang ginawa mo para sabay tayo?" If there’s one thing we love about this couple, it has to be their playful banter!

3. Maggie Wilson
Tattoos not only represent heartfelt meanings, but they can also symbolize strength and resilience. Despite being now separated from Victor Consunji, she told Preview that she still sees Victor as a significant part of her life, so she will not cover up the anagram of his name placed on her left thigh.

Another significant part of Maggie’s life is her son Connor. With two tattoos on her sides dedicated to him, it’s clear just how much the former beauty queen adores him. She opted for a minimalist wave motif that spells out Connor’s name followed by the arabic numerals of his birthday.

4. Sofia Andres
Sofia Andres is no stranger to dainty tattoos, and this one-of-a-kind ink is no exception. In one of her vlogs, she revealed that her daughter Zoe is her life and inspiration; which fits perfectly since "zoe" means life in Greek. Channeling that love into an ink, Sofia went for a minimalist stamp of her child’s name on her left wrist that matches beautifully with the heart tattoo on her opposite arm.

5. Coleen Garcia
The exchange of marriage vows is one of the most special parts of a wedding, so it’s no surprise that Coleen Garcia wanted to immortalize Billy Crawford's vows to her through a heartfelt tattoo. Coleen chose the words "my everything," and it’s actually written in her husband's handwriting. She also explained that she wanted that specific inverted placement on her hip so that only she can read it. If that’s not sweet, we don’t know what is!

6. Sue Ramirez
While Sue Ramirez may already have numerous tattoos, she says this blue eye tattoo in particular is the most meaningful to her because it honors the memories of her late father. Sue explains that it also represents an "evil eye" that protects her from people and things that want to hurt her, hence why she chose to place it behind her arm. Who says tattoos can only have one meaning?

7. Ellen Adarna Ramsay
Regardless of your age, we’re positive that you’ve heard of the Philippine literature classic, Ibong Adarna. Very fitting for Ellen Adarna Ramsay, she got an "Adarna bird" tattooed on her right hip which surrounds the word "freedom." On an Instagram story, Ellen explained that each bird represents a member of her family, who gave her the freedom to do whatever she wanted. What a wholesome and witty design!

8. Lovi Poe
Similar to Sue, Lovi Poe decided to get tattoos to commemorate her late father, Fernando Poe Jr.. At the age of 21, Lovi went for two script tattoos on both her sides that read "My Wings" and "My Gravity." She explained that her father gives her wings to fly, yet also pulls her back to the ground like gravity; symbolizing a balance. She also has another script motif with the words "Quiet Child" below her chest, referencing one of the nicknames her father gave her. According to Lovi, she believes tattoos are more than an accessory, and we couldn’t agree more.
