Blush is considered a staple in the beauty world. A touch of blush undoubtedly adds dimension to a look. Trends, personal preferences, and blush placements aside, there is a common mistake that keeps your look from reaching its truest, flawless potential—and you might be unconsciously making it!
We’ve all heard of raccoon or panda eyes. Primarily caused by smudged eyeliner or mascara, these unintentionally emphasize dark circles under the eyes. Well, the contrasting look is not a good one either. In relation to the popularity of blush, undereyes can become highlighted for being too bright, leading to an unnatural and inadequately blended look.

How to Blend Your Blush with Your Concealer, According to a Pro Makeup Artist
A bright stripe under the eyes is one of Judy Lim’s makeup pet peeves, so she showed her TikTok followers (of more than 800,000) just how to avoid it. Being in the industry for over a decade, the Toronto-based hair stylist and makeup artist has worked on a variety of looks and knows just how vital blending is to the final outcome.
Looking to work on your seamless blending skills? Here’s how.
How to Blend Your Blush with Your Concealer
Apply blush as you normally would.
Using what’s left on the brush you used, lift your blush all the way up to the undersides of your eyes. Don’t worry about the pigment there not being as vibrant as what’s on your cheeks—it’s exactly that gradient that helps us avoid the demarcation line between the blush we have and the concealer we’re about to put on.
Apply concealer on your undereyes and blend.
Once you’re happy with how it transitions, powder everything down.
Applying concealer before blush works, too. The main key is to blend your blush up to your undereyes without picking up more product on the brush. This technique helps avoid the undereyes from looking more hollow and textured, so that you have a result that melts well together.
