When Ylona Garcia first stepped inside the Pinoy Big Brother house in 2015, she was only 13 years old. Since then, the actress/singer has made her mark in the show biz industry through her charm, talent, and style. She practically grew up right in front of our very eyes! Well, time definitely flies because Ylona is turning 18 on February 28, and it seems like she'll be throwing a big bash—and a retro-inspired one at that!
Yesterday, Ylona shared a video teasing the big celebration with the hashtag #Ylona18. In the video, Ylona takes a trip to the '50s when circle skirts, voluminous hair, and heart-shaped sunglasses were aplenty. Such a reference was quite surprising, as we're used to seeing Ylona either in edgy streetwear looks or flirty, summery garb. But, she definitely nailed the retro flair nonetheless!
If you're looking to cop retro fashion as well, take cues from Ylona's outfits that were featured in the video:
1. Pair high-waisted jeans with an off-shouldered crop top and complete the look with a wide belt.
2. Add a red bandana and gold hoops for a Rosie the Riveter-inspired beach look.
3. Sport a simple gingham dress with a pleated skirt.
4. Add a sophisticated touch to an otherwise plain look with a bold red lip and a pearl necklace.
The teaser video was shot in The Light House Marina Resort, Subic Bay, and the setting was replete with vintage fixtures like film cameras, a drive-in movie theater, a Volkswagen beetle, and even cute beach parasols that we're totally eyeing for our next vacation.
The date of her big celebration has yet to be announced, but if this fabulous video is any indication, it'll be like an immersive trip to the past—and we can't wait!
