Year after year, the world tunes in to the awards night, not just to see who will win, but also to witness the best of Hollywood glamour on the red carpet. "I chose to dress up and design for Ms. Rachel Weisz. I just saw her in The Favourite and she was completely riveting. I want to see her in a rich deep leaf green heavy damask dress, which will suit her dark hair and fair complexion. I also want a simple neckline with a voluminous back draped detail."

"The gown represents the authentic nature of Lady Gaga that most people adore. We want to tone down her avante-garde style in a way that would still harmomize with her in a couture way. The black crepe gown is combined with a delicate white french lace that would overall exude elegance and sophistication."

Bet: Best Actress Nominee Yalitza Aparicio for Roma

"If I were to dress a nominated actress for the Oscars, it would be Yalitza Aparicio who played Cleo in Alfonso Cuaron’s masterpiece Roma. I imagine her in a sleekly, tailored silk faille ensemble (in either deep mud red, rust orange, or azul maya), a look that reflects her undeniably strong persona, and a nod to her being a teacher. That attached train lends that whiff of poetry and drama. The ensemble will be accented with tonal beading (armhole hems extending to the back part) in traditional Mixtec pattern to showcase her indigenous heritage."

"I am a huge fan of both Glenn Close and Lady Gaga—the former whom I have followed as a revered stage and musical icon; while Gaga is a music rogue who have beautifully transitioned into film and acting. I think either of them deserves to win the Oscars simply because they were both able to uphold and become each of their individual film characters, leaving no trace of who Glenn and Gaga are in real life. They are chameleons, they take on film roles and are able to completely transform. It is for this same reason that I think the sculptural and draped garment that I have designed [would fit] these two. I believe it is a perfect personification of how empowered, goal-oriented, and sophisticated women they are on and off camera."

"The long gown is made of tight polka dots in silver sequins on black tulle underlayered by Stellini wool. It's waterproof for all the drink spillage post-ceremony. It plays with YCMNG’s mantras: duality, unobtrusive, sexy yet still glamorous for the awards night. Amy Adams [will fit] this perfectly since she likes classic and fluid lines with hints of sexiness and is never lacking glamour. I pared it down by way of geometry and alternate fabrications, [best paired with] side-parted loose waves for the hairstyle. "
