We dare declare that It’s Okay To Not Be Okay’s Ko Mun-yeong is the most fashionable female lead this 2020. And we’re only at episode 10, mind you. It’s an understatement to say that Seo Ye Ji’s stylist on the show knocks it out of the park every single episode—from Mun-yeong’s head-turning ‘fits as she visits Moon Gang-tae to her covetable P200,000 pambahay looks. Ye Ji’s character isn’t shy to make bold, over-the-top, and interesting yet never tacky style choices that make her such a joy to watch whenever she debuts a new designer frock on screen.
So if you’re like us, who have taken a LOT of style notes throughout the series, you can also cop the children’s book author’s chic personal style. We’re not saying you should buy every designer item Ye Ji wears in IOTNBO, but you can definitely emulate her style with similar silhouettes and outfit combinations. Here are the seven non-negotiable items you need to dress like Ko Mun-yeong.
1. Puff–sleeved top or dress

Since the first few episodes, we've seen Seo Ye Ji sport such statement puff-sleeved looks. Two of the most memorable ones would be that beige mini dress from episode 3 (cinched with a Loewe leather corset BTW) and her internet-breaking puff pink suit with the cropped jacket in episode six, where her waist looked unbelievable miniscule. Both outfits were by Korean designer MINJUKIM, who also won Netflix’s reality designer search Next in Fashion.

2. Dangling earrings

The IOTNBO actress has worn a lot of statement earrings throughout the series. But we noticed that she prefers donning a pair of sleek danglers to frame her face and finish off her look with sophistication.

3. A statement belt

Ko Mun-yeong loves a perfectly cinched waist, and for a very good reason. A tightly fastened mid-section creates the illusion of wider hips achieving an hourglass silhouette. It’s a look that’s definitely flattering for girls who want to look curvier.

4. Co-ords

With our leading lady’s feisty personality, she could definitely pull off a serious skirt suit in more candy-colored hues. We love how Mun-yeong styles her pastel co-ords with attitude and not sweetness, and you can take cues from her ‘fits by copping one for yourself, too!

5. Stilleto Heels

To prove her point in almost every single episode, Mun-yeong opts for deadly stiletto heels and never a block or wedged pair. She’s already been seen wearing a number of pairs from Jimmy Choo and Gianvito Rossi. But whether they’re strappy heeled sandals or a fiery red pump, the heel is what matters. And if you want to be Seo Ye Ji, you better pick a pair that’s slim, sleek, and pretty high in height.

6. Statement Mini Bag
When you’re a successful author like Mun-yeong, you should only carry around a credit card, a tube of lipstick, and your phone inside your handbag. No wonder she never opts to carry anything bigger than a purse the size of a pocket book. She’s already been spotted flaunting leather bags from Dior, Tod’s, and Chloé—but always in the smallest size these styles are available in.
