Preview’s 30th Anniversary saw a congregation of the country’s biggest names in the style world. This Year’s Best Dressed List, Best Filipino Fashion Designers, and Preview 30 Icons, alongside other notable personalities and creatives, celebrated the title’s three-decade milestone in true Filipino fashion.
As a brand by and for Filipino talent, this year’s theme is “homegrown”, with guests turning up to the Marriott Grand Ballroom at Newport World Resorts in their best interpretation of “Filipino creative formal.” The list, of course, includes September cover girl Anne Curtis, whose custom frock showcased the design codes of BFFD 2023 honoree Randolf Clothing.

Looking back at our roots resulted in a harmonious marriage between heritage and modernity, as seen in the likes of Janine Gutierrez and her contemporary twist on the camisa de chino and Maja Salvador's pouf skirt made from T'nalak fabric.
"We wanted to create an outfit that not only honored our heritage but also felt current and stylish. The goal was to show that Filipino fabrics and design can be chic, modern, and forward-thinking, making a bold statement that feels perfectly at home in today’s fashion landscape," shared Maja's stylist, Cath Sobrevega.

Other celebrities took a similar path, picking an authentically Filipino artifact and making it their own. Sofia Andres drew from the Philippine national flower, the sampaguita, to capture Filipino beauty in its “most natural and authentic expression,” and Chloe San Jose sought to mimic the radiance of a Philippine pearl with her custom frock.
Mimiyuuuh made a striking entrance at the Preview Ball 2025, choosing to honor her origins with a deconstructed ensemble by Carl Jan Cruz—a reinterpretation of a design first worn in 2019, the pivotal year of her rise to being a social media star. Her look, in line with the event’s “homegrown” theme, expressed a deep-rooted loyalty to her chosen designer as she mindfully supports brands aligned with her values, especially those that believed in her before fame.

Pia Jauncey—crowned Preview’s Style Icon 2025—appeared at the Preview Ball in a custom black-and-white column gown by Mark Bumgarner, styled by Perry Tabora as an ode to her personal and creative evolution. The gown’s gauzy, layered pleats and sweeping black lines evoke the mariposa butterfly—an emblem of transformation and freedom—while its pristine white hue subtly honors the sampaguita, a national symbol of purity and elegance. Complemented by sparkling Bulgari Fiorever diamond jewelry, the ensemble captures a timeless Filipina beauty that is both universally resonant and deeply rooted in identity.

Many celebrities offered striking interpretations of the “homegrown” theme, each weaving heritage into contemporary style. Sarah Lahbati turned heads in an avant-gothic Maria Clara by LWRNBRT, styled by Steven Coralde, with butterfly sleeves and leather details that reimagined tradition through a “Tropical Gothic” lens. Solenn Heussaff embraced natural forces in Rajo Laurel’s “Ipo-ipo” gown, a silk-and-abaca piece inspired by the elegance and power of a whirlwind, paired with Golden South Sea pearls from Jewelmer. Isabelle Daza chose a pearl-strewn Vania Romoff creation from the designer’s bridal collection, with delicate floral appliqués and a bow detail paying homage to the Philippines as the “Pearl of the Orient.”
For the men, Brent Manalo offered a modern twist on barong dressing in LSW by Koko Gonzales, layering a cotton barong with a piña vest made from deadstock fabric and pairing it with white silk trousers. Styled by Ryuji Shiomitsu, his look was finished with a golden South Sea pearl necklace from Jewelmer and Adam Pereyera’s Barter Rings.
