Over the past year, the ladies of BINI have done a great deal to represent Filipino artistry on a global scale.

In recognition of their efforts, the octet received the Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino Global Impact recognition, an honor bestowed by the Awit Awards on acts that have contributed to the legacy of OPM. For the occasion, the girls were styled by visual director Ica Villanueva in ensembles by Preview Best Filipino Fashion Designer honoree Randolf.

"I wanted something unique, bold, and playful, but still reflective of each member’s individuality," Ica tells Preview in an exclusive interview. For the ceremony, each girl wore pieces plucked from Randolf's S/S 2026 and S/S 2027 collections, which were presented at Manila Fashion Week in consecutive seasons. Through intentional styling choices, Ica brought out each member's personality while keeping their overall looks cohesive.

For BINI's acceptance of their Global Impact trophies, Ica wanted to capture the group's fun energy, which made Randolf's playful style codes an immediate choice. "I trusted RJ [Santos'] creative vision because he understands how to make a statement through fashion without losing that youthful energy," she shared.

"I wanted the collaboration to feel authentic to both Randolf and BINI, rather than simply dressing the girls in something trendy."

In recent appearances, BINI has taken a more refined route to dressing, as seen in their Martin Bautista frocks at the advance screening of Forgotten Island and their Peach Garde looks during a Senate visit. For this awards night, Ica wanted to revisit the group's "playful and expressive side" through a less restrained approach.

"This time, I wanted to shift the mood and bring back a sense of fun and experimentation," she says. "Randolf has such a distinct design language, and I love how his pieces celebrate individuality, creativity, and a sense of fun... [He] felt like a natural fit because his work has that unique ability to feel distinctly Filipino while resonating with a global audience."

Using fashion as a vehicle of Filipino creativity has become second nature to BINI, thanks in part to Ica's vision as their stylist. It's an approach they hope to carry forward in the girl group's next strides as musicians.

"As BINI continues to reach audiences beyond the Philippines, I believe fashion becomes another platform for us to celebrate Filipino creativity. Our team's vision has always been to champion local talent and show the world what Filipino designers are capable of," Ica states.
