They’re just behind headliners Justin Bieber and Sabrina Carpenter!

A new report is putting numbers behind the buzz from Coachella 2026, and Filipino girl group BINI is very much part of that global conversation.
According to data from influence marketing platform Lefty, the group generated an estimated $5.4 million in earned media value (EMV) during the festival’s first weekend, placing them just behind headliners Justin Bieber and Sabrina Carpenter. The numbers also put BINI ahead of several major international acts.

The figures come from analysis by Lefty, an influence marketing platform, tracking performance from April 9 to 15.
For Weekend 1, the reported earned media values were:
Justin Bieber – $6.9 million, 1.2% average engagement rate
Sabrina Carpenter – $6.4 million, 9% average engagement rate
BINI – $5.4 million, 10.5% average engagement rate
KATSEYE – $4.6 million, 16.3% average engagement rate
Karol G – $2.9 million, 5% average engagement rate

BINI’s 10.5% rate signals strong audience interaction, while KATSEYE—also in the mix—posted the highest engagement overall at 16.3%. KATSEYE also includes Filipina member Sophia Laforteza, adding another layer of Filipino representation on the global stage.
For context, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is one of the world’s biggest music festivals, held every year in Indio, California. It draws massive global attention both on-ground and online, with performances often becoming viral moments that extend far beyond the desert stages.
What is an Earned Media Value (EMV)?
Earned Media Value, often shortened to EMV, is a way of estimating how much unpaid exposure a brand or talent receives online and across media platforms.
According to Launchmetrics, EMV is meant to quantify the impact of organic visibility—think press coverage, social media mentions, influencer posts, and word-of-mouth engagement. In practice, it tries to assign a monetary figure to attention that wasn’t directly bought through advertising.
But even experts caution that it isn’t an exact science.
Arnaud Roy, Chief Strategy Officer at Launchmetrics, has noted that while earned media is often seen as “free,” it still carries real value and cost implications. He explained, “Brands tend to think of earned media as free, but in reality, there’s a cost associated with it.”
The idea behind EMV is to give marketing and PR teams a way to measure how much impact their visibility is generating, especially in an era where traditional advertising is only one part of the conversation.
A simplified way EMV is often calculated includes:
Reach or impressions
Cost per thousand impressions (CPM)
Engagement rate
An adjustment factor based on content quality or type
The result is meant to reflect how much that exposure would have cost if it were paid advertising. Still, EMV is best read as a directional metric rather than a definitive price tag.
