Food fads have come and gone during the lockdown. From the likes of Dalgona coffee, to dreamy cakes in pretty tin cans, to the banana bread craze—there’s honestly too many to mention! Come October 2020, Korean corn dogs became the talk of the town because of the scrumptious-looking corn dogs halmeoni sold in the hit K-drama Start-Up. Recipes of how to recreate them at home even flooded the internet!

It’s been months since the show ended but we can’t blame you if the thought of the delicious snack still sends you craving. If you’re not exactly an expert at following recipes online, though, don’t worry because we found a place where you can order them instead.

Introducing Cafe Constancia, a store that opened last October 2020. Having cleverly ridden the hype brought on by Start-Up, they’ve successfully managed to make their corn dogs a staple that many loyal customers continue to love despite the initial craze having slowed down.

FYI, the word “Constancia” stems from a combination of the owner’s parents’ names—Constante and Cresencia. When translated in English, these Spanish names literally mean “constant” and “perseverance” respectively. Hence, they’ve made it a point to carry these values in their business by being constant in delivering quality food and persevering until their little cafe makes it big.

So far, based on reviews from avid fans, food bloggers and even celebrities, Café Constancia’s tenacity to serve only the best Korean corn dogs is paying off big time! Influencers and celebrities such as Toni Sia, Sofia Andres, Coleen Garcia, and Yam Concepcion have already tipped their hats to the online resto. Not to mention food blogs, such as FoodieInsider.ph, have also raved about how chewy their dough is!

Customers can choose from five flavors, namely: Classic corn dog (P69), Classic Cheddar (P89), Potato Mozza (P99), Cheesy Squid (P89), and Double Cheese (P99). Each corn dog can be bought individually with a side of one free standard dip of either ketchup or mustard. You can also treat yourself to a box of all five flavors with four dips for just P430. Classic dips included are tomato ketchup, honey mustard, garlic mayo, and cheddar sauce.

To order, just fill out their form and send it through a DM via Café Constancia’s Instagram or Facebook accounts. It’s also encouraged to place your order one hour before pick-up time to ensure the food’s still in tip-top shape upon arrival. They're best consumed immediately anyway! If necessary though, they can also last until three days in the refrigerator.

Drop by or send a rider to grab your orders at Café Constancia’s homebase in La Loma, Quezon City. They’re open from Tuesday to Sunday at 12nn to 7pm.
