Japanese bakery Kumori has always taken pride in their oh-so rich and delectable Signature Cheese Tarts. That said, it looks like they’re taking things up a notch and reinventing their classic treat with Manila Creamery. It's the collaboration we didn’t know we needed!
The dessert parlor, which is most popular for their artisanal gelato, has given their own spin on the beloved Japanese snack. Dubbed the Signature Cheese Tart Gelato, hungry customers can expect the first cold bite to be the perfect mix of sweet and salty “with a refreshing hint of tartness and cheesiness.”
With ingredients sourced both locally and internationally, Kumori further explains, “the gelato mixture is a combination of cheeses, with sweet tart shells folded in for that extra crunch. The dairy base is a combination of sharp white cheddar and rich premium cream cheese for an almost velvet-like texture on the lips. Homemade crushed tart shells pepper the gelato and are remarkable on their own–delicate, crispy and buttery, with a touch of salt for balance.”
