Why "Moving" Star Lee Jung Ha Won't Be Returning for Season 2

The wheels are already turning for the second season of Moving, but viewers might notice one familiar face missing from the lineup. Lee Jung Ha, who played the warmhearted and flying teen Kim Bong-seok in the first season, will no longer reprise the role in the upcoming installment of the Korean Disney+ hit.

The production for the new season is now underway, along with a new actor stepping into the role of Bong-seok.

According to Korean outlet MyDramaNews, Lee Jung Ha’s agency Namoo Actors confirmed in December 2025 that the actor would begin his mandatory military service on January 26, 2026, after being accepted into the Marine Corps. 

Because of the timing, Jung Ha will not be able to participate in season two of Moving, which is currently in production and is reportedly targeting a 2027 release.

In the first season, Jung Ha played Kim Bong-seok, a high school student with the ability to fly. The series followed a group of teenagers hiding supernatural powers inherited from their parents, who were once elite agents entangled in dangerous government missions. As threats from the past resurfaced, both generations were pulled into a larger fight.

When it premiered in 2023, Moving quickly became one of Disney+’s biggest Korean originals. According to Variety, the drama became the most-watched Korean original series across Disney+ globally and Hulu in the United States during its first week of release. It also topped Disney+ viewership rankings across several Asia-Pacific markets at the time.

The show later picked up major recognition during awards season, including the grand prize in television at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards.

For Moving’s second season, newcomer Won Gyu Bin will step into the role of Kim Bong-seok. According to outlets like OSEN, the actor has officially joined the cast of season two following Lee Jung Ha’s departure.

Won Gyu Bin made his acting debut in 2025 through Bitch x Rich, where he caught attention for his onscreen presence despite being a rookie actor.

Season two of Moving will also bring back several cast members from the original run, including Ryu Seung Ryong, Han Hyo Joo, Jo In Sung, Go Yoon Jung, and Kim Do Hoon.

Disney+ previously shared that the new season will follow the characters as they attempt to return to everyday life before new threats begin to emerge once again. Writer Kang Full, who created the original webtoon and penned the first season, is also returning for the sequel.
