White Rabbit candies have a special way of appealing to us, regardless if you're nine or 90. And no wonder, what with its mellow, milky flavor that envelops the tongue with the coziness of a warm blanket. It isn't just good as a candy, though; we've seen it flavor everything from ice cream to milk tea. Now joining the White-Rabbit spinoff train? Croissants—specifically the winning croissants of Butterboy. The local purveyor's come up with White Rabbit Pain au Chocolat in time for the upcoming Chinese New Year!
Croissants get a White-Rabbit inspired twist:
For the White Rabbit Pain au Chocolat, Butterboy combines the said candies with white chocolate for an uber-creamy filling within their flaky, buttery croissant dough. This is available as part of their Chinese New Year Set (P579) that also comes with five other seasonal specials: the Pineapple Cake Croissant, Oolong Tea Croissant, The Kouign of Thailand (Thai Milk Tea kouign amann), Sesame Kouign Amann, and the Smoked Duck Ham and Cheese Croissant. For an added special touch, you can also add on a Chinese New Year Gifting Sleeve and Card for P45.
You can preorder the Chinese New Year Set from their website, or get these pastries by the piece at their café's open house on January 15 and 22, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (note that stocks are limited). While you're at it, we say don't hesitate to pick up a couple of pieces of their other signatures—like the Classic Butter Croissant (P59), Kouign Amann (P69), and Spinach Cheese Quiche (P90).
