It’s no secret that Antipolo has some of the best views of the metro. Perched on the slopes of the Sierra Madre mountain range, its prime location grants stunning views of the busy city skyline while remaining safely distanced enough in a calm and serene environment. Folks have long since been making the drive up just to take a breather, but there may just be another reason to visit: good coffee.
Located along Sumulong Highway is the recently opened, Ahon Coffee. It is a no-frills java joint housed in a compact, minimalist kiosk that gives a nod to Japanese design aesthetics. The shop’s lack of physical floor space makes room for their sprawling outdoor area that boasts of nature's greens and unobstructed, panoramic hillside vistas.
Grab your cuppa and a cookie from the counter and find a spot in the spacious property to relax and enjoy both the ambiance and your caffeine fix. Not only are their drinks potent and flavorful, the hand-picked, single origin beans they used for these are truly good.
Sourced from The Coffee Heritage Project, they only offer 100% local coffee that comes from small-holder farms. These are directly traded in support of farmers from coffee-growing communities so that their livelihood may improve through decent profits, as well as through the initiative’s technical and financial assistance.
Enjoy your coffee in its purest form with a piping hot shot of Espresso (P50), or indulge your taste buds with a cup of Spanish Latte (P130) or their best-selling Caramel Macchiato (P140). For non-coffee drinkers, they also serve Matcha Latte (P150) and Dark Chocolate (P140). All of their drinks can be opted as iced, and it's absolutely perfect for those hot and humid afternoons or for when you’ve just successfully cycled through the highway’s elevations. FYI, this IG-worthy spot is a favorite hangout of cyclists.
