South Korea is popular for many things—from tear-jerking TV shows and uplifting music, to trending makeup looks and top-notch skincare. Self-portrait studios are one of them too, but for Tracy Ayson, a different kind of photoshoot was waiting for her.

The Filipina content creator was chosen by Amorepacific, the brand housing many K-beauty favorites such as COSRX, Etude House and Innisfree, to star in the recent campaign for the Laneige Glaze Craze.
In true K-beauty fashion, the high-shine tinted lip serum is infused with polypeptides, argan ceramides, and polyglutamic acid that visibly nourish and moisturize the lips. The lip treat and its donut-inspired shades were modeled by Tracy for the group’s Makeup & Life Blending campaign, which captures how beauty makes up a significant part of our day-to-day.

How Tracy Ayson Landed a K-Beauty Campaign with Laneige
How did you hear about the modeling opportunity, and what motivated you to apply?
"I actually just saw an advertisement on Amore Seongsu’s page that they were looking for a model for their 'Makeup & Life Blending' summer campaign, so I decided to apply! It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing, I didn't tell a single soul!"
What was the application process like?
"It was actually just to email them with your photo, social media handle, and answer to why you want to be a model. A few days after, I received an email back saying they’d love to work with me, and they invited me for a briefing at the Amorepacific office HQ in Yongsan, Seoul!"

As a fan of K-culture yourself, how do you feel now that you’re a face of one of the biggest K-beauty brands’ campaigns?
"It actually felt surreal because I am such a fan of most of the brands they own, so being able to do a campaign for their flagship store Amore Seongsu, in collaboration with one of their biggest brands Laneige, was truly a dream come true! I'm so kilig about this, and this experience was definitely one for the books."
You shared that you experienced self-doubt before the shoot. How did you overcome it?
"I was very awkward at first (and growing up, my skin was acne-prone and I never had smooth skin until the pandemic), so imagine my shock during the shoot and when the photos were released! The Amore Seongsu team was so supportive, they told me only Korean models had participated in the past and I was the first global model to shoot the Amore Seongsu Makeup & Life Blending campaign. Their trust in me gave me a lot of confidence!
