I used to feel a bit sad when girls would say, "I don’t wear foundation," because to me it would translate as "I don’t need foundation." Sad because, omg, is my skin that bad that I wear foundation?
First of all, no hate for non-makeup wearers and makeup wearers both; you do you. But I used to have horrible skin, and pre-intervention by my dermatologist, I could never do without full coverage–it was my security blanket, and concealer shopping was my retail therapy.
But what if I told you all you really needed was your concealer? I mean really, if you think about it, its coverage is full enough to cover your blemishes and dark circles. Especially now that temperature is rising, it’s harder to maintain four layers of base (primer-foundation-concealer-setting powder). So, here’s a super-simple routine for flawless, summer-ready skin:
Step 1: Conceal.

Take your concealer and dot it all over the parts where you need coverage. For me, this is usually the T-zone and the center of the face. To do this, I use either MAC Studio Fix Concealer or Bobbi Brown's Foundation Stick (its consistency and coverage is thick enough to be a concealer).

Step 2: Highlight.

Dot an illuminating moisturizer like MAC Strobe Cream in Goldlite over the existing concealer dots. The yellow tones in this product will highlight the center of the face and give it a dewy finish.

Step 3: Blend.

With a damp beauty blender, blend the illuminator and concealer together. Ta-da! Instant even glow.
Easy, right? Try it and see the results yourself!
