Getting a tattoo can be a subtle and easy way to express yourself! It’s not surprising why it's so popular to get one, and that includes many celebrities. Maine Mendoza, for example, has a small tattoo collection of her own that you can get subtle peeks of on her Instagram. The star still prefers to remain low-key about them, though, and only flaunts them occasionally.
Here are all the tattoos we've spotted on Maine Mendoza so far:
1. Swallows on her upper back
One of Maine's most visible tattoos is of three swallows in flight on her back, which looks absolutely stunning! Maine herself hasn’t divulged the exact meaning behind this ink, but birds generally symbolize freedom and independence since they are able to fly wherever they please. Swallows specifically are touted as loyal birds who choose a mate for life, and a tattoo of them might symbolize loyalty and love. These are just some meaningful insights that Maine might resonate with!
2. Three dots on her left ankle
While shooting for an Easter special episode for a popular noontime show, Maine was able to visit legendary tattoo artist Apo Whang-Od! The tattoo that she got is a dainty vertical column of three dots on her left ankle. ICYDK, Whang-Od is known as the last mambabatok of the Butbut tribe, and has been attributed to keeping the tradition of tattooing in Kalinga alive.
3. Wave tattoo on her left rib
If you look closely on some of Maine's beach posts on IG, you can see a tiny wave tattoo peeking through on her rib! This dainty ink hasn't been talked about by Maine either, but we're pretty sure there's a connection between it and her love for the beach. It can also be related to Maine's zodiac sign which is Pisces sun! As a water sign, Pisces is represented by two fishes swimming in opposite directions. This zodiac sign is known to be deeply sensitive and have emotions that are always flowing like the waves.
4. Hidden tattoo on her right thigh
Not much is known of the tattoo located on Maine's upper thigh. It can only be slightly seen in some photos she’s shared, but she’s careful to keep it on the down-low. Her poses are either angled to her left side or cropped so that the bottom part of the body is unseen, purposely keeping the ink hidden. While she's not ready to share it with the world just yet, we're eagerly waiting for the day we get to see the tatt in full view!
