After a five-year hiatus, Kim Tae-Hee has returned to TV with the new K-drama Hi Bye, Mama. In it, the Korean actress plays Cha Yu-Ri, a new mother who suddenly dies from an accident. She then becomes a ghost, lingering around her daughter for years until she's granted a second chance at life by being reincarnated for 49 days.
With the drama's touching, family-oriented plot, it's no secret that Kim Tae-Hee is off to show a new side to her acting chops. Her character Yu-Ri has quite the distinct look, too, and we couldn't help but notice even the little details.
See what we mean below:
1. You'll hardly catch the actress without her signature top knot in this show. Yu-Ri adopts this look after becoming a mom, going with a slightly disheveled style with two loose tendrils by her ears.
2. That said, when she does wear her hair down, she opts for a low bun or a messy half-up style with loose waves.
3. In the drama's first video teaser, the ghost mom is shown to be "participating" in her family's portait session. By extension, it features Yu-Ri in her most glammed up form, as if she'll actually appear in the photo herself! She amps up her usual top knot by pairing it with defined straight brows, brown eyeliner, and a diffused fuchsia lip color.
4. For the rest of the scenes, Yu-Ri loses the bold lip and goes for a barely-there look. She only wears softly-shaded brows, bouncy, glassy skin, and expertly-curled lashes. It's the kind of glam that quite literally requires only three products (brow pencil, cushion foundation, and lash curler, to be exact!) and five minutes to finish. You don't need to do much if you have a face like Kim Tae-Hee's, after all!
