Sassa Gurl is a lot of things at once—internet personality, musician, and three-time Preview cover girl, to name a few. She first took Philippine pop culture by storm with her talent in creating content, many of which feature her wearing her signature “hotdog” blush. Fun fact: In 2022, she even revealed to Preview the exact steps to achieve it.
She applies one thick strip of tint across each cheek, then takes a beauty sponge to blend it together—never forgetting to go over the nose bridge to create a line of blush across the face, much like a hotdog pressed on white rice. When trying this look, take the liberty to repeat the steps, so you can build up the color and attain the pigment you desire.
Much has changed since Sassa first entered the limelight, and with this, her recent looks still embody the same essence of her signature glam—just elevated versions of it. For blush that simply cannot be ignored, Preview asked her go-to makeup artist, Marie Jo Amaba, for the exact shades she uses.
Sassa Gurl’s Exact Blushes, According to Her Makeup Artist
Cloudbeauty Powder Blush in Vivid
These days, Sassa has been leaning towards soft glam that embodies a sweeter aura, and that makes baby pink tones a no-brainer. The Cloudbeauty Powder Blush is one they usually go for, particularly in the shade Vivid. The blush gives a blurred, soft-focus effect on the complexion. Given that it’s both blendable and buildable, it fits right into Sassa’s checklist of blush characteristics.

Cloudbeauty Cloudyblush in Fluffy Pink and Hot Cloud
With blush as the focal point of your makeup look, it helps to use one that blends seamlessly and activates that lit-from-within glow. Marie Jo applies the Cloudyblush—also from Cloudbeauty—exactly for this. The lightweight cream blush melts into the skin, and with skin-loving ingredients like Vitamin E and coconut oil extract, using it on repeat won’t be a worry. Sassa alternates between the shade Fluffy Pink for demure vibes, and Hot Cloud for bold energy.

Colourette Colorbounce in Luv
Sassa’s blush does not budge even under photography lights. For an intense “hotdog” blush look, Colourette’s Colorbounce in the shade Luv makes a good choice. Its jelly-to-powder finish gives importance to radiance, and that’s why it leads to a look that’s dewy and not oily. Luv also comes with a hint of shine, making the compact blush a bringer of glow even when you’re on the go.
