Hair bleaching is definitely up there as a beauty task we should leave to the pros. It's risky to do it on your own, especially if you've never done it before. That said, we have to hand it to Chie Filomeno, because she just made the process look so easy.
On her Instagram, Chie posted a picture showing off her newly-bleached, DIY chunky highlights. Mind you, this isn't the final result, but we're impressed either way!
If the style looks familiar, that's because you've probably seen versions of it on Dua Lipa, Kylie Jenner, and almost everyone who follows the E-girl beauty trend. Chunky highlights were popular back in the early 2000s, too, and it's obviously making a comeback!
As for how Chie nailed this at-home transformation at home, the details are on her TikTok. But to quickly break it down for you, she first tied her hair to separate the section she'll be bleaching, and then proceeded to lighten her strands with bleaching powder. After that, she toned her tresses with an ash blonde dye, and voilà—ash gray chunky highlights!
