Ladies and gents, meet Chanel’s newest face for Coco Mademoiselle: Whitney Peak. Not only is the Gossip Girl star making history as Keira Knightley successor, she also happens to be the first-ever woman of color to front a fragrance campaign by the French fashion house.
Coco Mademoiselle is an iconic fragrance that’s meant to embody a young Gabrielle Chanel who, at 20 years old (the same age Whitney's in now), began her journey to becoming the founder of one of the world’s leading brands in fashion and beauty. “Peak, the new face of Coco Mademoiselle, is fitting as the modern-day embodiment of a young Gabrielle Chanel,” says the brand.
The fragrance, which is an unconventional but delightful trail of fresh citrus and sensual patchouli, is described as “both subtle and strong, youthful but confident, seductive yet not provocative, modern but classic.” It is a perfect reflection of Whitney who admits that she, like the fragrance, loves to be unpredictable.
