Beauty in 2025 was largely defined by aesthetic restraint, staying close to what is natural or exercising control over the number of hues used in a single look. Now that the new year has just begun, it’s the perfect time to cast your forecasts on the trends that we are about to witness and experience. How will the approach to everyday glam transform? What will capture the zeitgeist of beauty in this time and age?
Preview asked six celebrity makeup artists to share the beauty trends that they want to come back or finally see this year.
As a Makeup Artist, What Beauty Trends Do You Want To See in 2026?
Denise Ochoa

“It would be interesting to see ladies feature what they’re known for based on their looks, not trends. Like ‘My brows, my liner, my blush—my rules.’ Though, I’d still like to see skin-but-better, and clean glam hybrid. Breathable bases, soft contour, defined brows, glossy lips—minimal, but perfected. Something like ‘I woke up like this,’ but curated.”

“For 2026, I’d love to see a return to beauty rooted in Filipino identity—sun-kissed skin, natural textures, and makeup inspired by our climate, heritage, and everyday life. Less perfection, more warmth and character. Beauty that feels lived-in, expressive, and proudly kayumanggi. I think celebrating our natural features and cultural influences makes beauty more meaningful and timeless.”

“I'm just so happy that everyone's open to wearing color a lot now. The first few years of my career, puro editorial, and the makeup looks were wild and colorful. And then umabot din to a point na biglang naging clean-everything, like no makeup-makeup.
“It’s so refreshing to see it coming back already—na people are so creative with their looks. I’m not really wishing that it would come back, because it already is coming back. ‘Yun ‘yung nakaka-happy now.”

“In 2026, I’d love to see the comeback of maximalism—something right in between ‘80s disco glam and ‘20s flapper flair. Think bold colors that reflect vibrant personalities, with striking eyeshadows, extra-curly long lashes, lots of glitter, and perfectly overlined lips.”

“So many beauty trends from the past have been recreated and reinvented over and over again, but the one that I want to see again is the soft, bleached eyebrow. Just like what Janet Jackson, Madonna, and Deborah Cox rocked in the ‘90s. Not to the point that it looks like you shaved your brows off, though.
“Think understated, and just a few shades lighter than your natural brow color. But this time, fuller and fluffier to give the look a modern and wearable feel.”
