Since posting about her new fitness journey last June, Angel Locsin has been very low-key about her fitness journey on social media. That's why when she posted "progress" mirror selfies on Instagram a few days ago, it was quickly flooded by supportive messages by friends and fans.
In the photos, Angel was all smiles while clad in all-black workout gear. "Remember to love every inch of you," she wrote on the caption. The post has more than 670,000 likes and 10,000 comments as of writing!
The attention her photos received led Angel to create a follow-up post, this time coupled with a message about her weight loss. It's the first time she has ever addressed the matter at length.
"Hello everyone! About my recent post that became viral, first, I want to say that knowing how to pose the right way can help you look slimmer. I think everyone who posts ootd’s or watched Top model knows this [emoji]," the actress starts.
Angel then addressed those who are on a similar fitness journey she is and offered the most empowering advice.
She wrote, "So for those struggling to lose that extra weight, please don't feel pressured. I tell you that I understand that it's not easy, having been fighting weight gain for years.
"Pressure did not and will not help. Just take your time. Your body, your rules. Just don't forget to love every inch of you in the process, no matter what other people may say. You are more than your weight or how you look. What's important is how you feel and think of yourself. Shine. Don't let the perception of others dim your light. I know you are trying. I know it’s hard. I understand."
Opening up about her progress, Angel admits that while she was able to slim down, she is still working towards her goal.
"Though I feel good now. I've been taking care of my health and trying out something new. I will share with you my process and journey some other time, when I'm more confident na. But this is not without struggles and bumps," she reveals. "I will not let anyone dictate my pace. But I am looking forward to what I can achieve in the next 3 months or so."
The actress ended the post with a short yet uplifting message: "Love you, fats and all."
