The Kapuso network annually gathers the brightest stars at the GMA Gala. This 2025, the event was all the more meaningful with the commemoration of the broadcast company's 75th anniversary. With no strict dress code, guests were welcome to arrive at the Manila Marriott Grand Ballroom in their interpretations of formal wear.

Among the attendees present was seasoned actress Yasmien Kurdi, who has been a proud Kapuso for more than 20 years now. To pay tribute to her humble beginnings as a reality show alumna, she restyled a frock she wore all the way back in 2003.

After Saturday night's festivities, Yasmien shared how her outfit was actually a revamped take on her look at the culmination of StarStruck's first season. "This is the very same gown I wore during StarStruck’s Judgement Night 21 years ago! You might even catch a glimpse of it in the opening and closing scenes of GMA’s Station ID on TV," the actress shared in an Instagram post.

All the way back in 2003, Yasmien stood side-by-side with Jennylyn Mercado as the top two female survivors. Before, her orange dress was done with a halter neckline and had bejeweled appliques to the side. Now, as her home network celebrates its 75th year in the business, she worked with her stylist Gabby Wu to put a new spin on the dress.

"I wanted to do something meaningful," Yasmien expressed. "A quiet tribute to everything this network has given me. That’s why I went back to the one and only sir JC Buendia to have this gown upcycled."  She stated how the designer was able to update the piece into a strapless number, giving it a fresh makeover. "Akala ko forever na sya sa cabinet ko, magagamit ko pa pala ulit," she said.

Yasmien added how the project was a last-minute arrangement, though she's glad Gabby and JC were able to help her accomplish it. Her sentimental and sustainable outfit made the gala an even more memorable occasion for her. "I had the best time reconnecting with old friends who truly feel like family. Happy 75th, GMA! Here’s to many more years of storytelling and memories," she closed out her caption.
