If you’ve been following the newest hit Netflix mafia-tinged K-drama Vincenzo, then you know that Korean-born but Italian-raised consigliere Vincenzo Cassano is played by South Korean heartthrob Song Joong Ki. As a lawyer and consigliere of the mafia he serves, our anti-hero Vincenzo can afford the finer things in life—from silk sleepwear to luxurious suits!
Case in point: In the first episode, Vincenzo, who just flew back to South Korea after a dispute with the mafia, immediately becomes a victim of robbery where the culprits took his designer bag, wads of cash, and his very expensive watch. In the scene, the robbers say it’s worth about 100 million Korean won (approximately P4 million)—a little overkill with the estimate but it's not too far off. In fact, his exact Hublot watch costs almost two million pesos!
Vincenzo's exact watch is actually the Big Bang Unico King Gold model from the Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot. What makes this watch unique is the unico design which is like the ‘open heart’ of the watch and has over 330 components to it. Aside from that, its case is polished and is satin-finished with a warmer-toned 18K King Gold and has six subtle H-shaped titanium screws. So cool!
Look a little closer and you’ll actually spot a few sapphires with anti-reflective treatment and it’s sleek matte black skeleton dial. The simple yet intricate design is very much everything Hublot stands for—blending the most unexpected materials into a harmonious piece like this one. All these subtle pieces make the most complex design, which is perfect for Song Joong Ki’s character in the K-drama!
Sad to say that he did lose this watch, but since it is an essential, Vincenzo easily replaced it with another Hublot piece, which costs around P500,000. It's a little more subtle and less eye-catching compared to the Big Bang Unico Gold, so fingers crossed he doesn’t get robbed again!
