The Dada bag made its debut on Prada’s Fall/Winter 2025 womenswear presentation during Milan Fashion Week last February. Under the direction of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, the collection explored femininity as something fluid and ever-changing, where structure meets spontaneity, and contrasts form new expressions of beauty.

That concept takes shape in the Dada bag. With its rounded boxy form and cinched leather folds, it embodies the tension between restraint and ease. A slim belt gathers the body into soft drapes and extends into two elongated handles. The act of cinching—a recurring motif in Prada’s design language—becomes both functional and ornamental.

Each bag is meticulously handcrafted in Italy from lambskin nappa leather. Artisans manually cut every panel to achieve its precise rectangular shape before assembling the hardware—magnetic closure, buckle, and loops—with exacting attention to balance and durability.

In true Prada fashion, branding is kept subtle: the signature triangle logo is either embossed or printed near the base, letting the silhouette and leather take center stage. Clean stitching, an uncluttered interior, and understated metal fittings all reflect the house’s devotion to timeless luxury.

The Dada bag draws its name from the Dada art movement of the early 20th century—a creative rebellion that rejected logic and embraced nonsensical ideas through collages, performances, and the use of photomontages. Dadaists aimed to shock the public and challenged all traditional conventions of art, often calling their own work "anti-art".

Much like the movement, the bag challenges conventions by reimagining what elegance can look like when rigid structures are injected with a form of fluidity.

The bag comes in a cohesive palette of neutrals—black, sand beige, powder pink, ivory, and granite grey. With a 32 cm handle drop, it rests comfortably on the shoulder, while the magnetic closure allows easy access. Inside, a central pocket keeps smaller items neatly in place.
