Prada has long been associated with utilitarian codes. For many sartorialists, the heritage house sits at the intersection of pragmatic, function-first design and distinctive Italian flair. One can spot the iconic triangular logo on a pocket of a shift dress or the outer flap of a leather bag.

And speaking of bags, Prada has introduced an emerging model that fuses everything we’ve come to adore about the label. In case you haven’t met her, allow us to introduce Bonnie and her ridiculously capacious, ridiculously stylish traits.

Meet the Prada Bonnie

The Bonnie is one of the maison’s latest expressions of fashion that doesn’t sacrifice practicality. It’s characterized by a rectangular silhouette accented by a slender handle, belt-like buckles, and knotted ties. Debuted as part of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection, the tote has since been reimagined in a bevy of fabrications and styles. A tangible synthesis of everything Prada stands for, it was poetically “designed for those who move with style.”

A brainchild of Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada, the Bonnie has evolved over the years, taking on new forms each season. What began as an ultra-roomy leather tote bag has since been made in linen, printed canvas, denim, and other textiles. Recent iterations boast additional compartments and straps that add character to the versatile piece. In all its reincarnations, the Bonnie is crafted with equal parts sophistication and restraint, reflecting Prada’s intentionality in its design codes.

How Asian Stars Wear the Prada Bonnie

Given its versatile qualities and approachable design, the Bonnie has gained fans across the region. In the Philippines, an all-black leather version was spotted on Kyle Echarri as his trusty work companion. Meanwhile, actresses Ashley Ortega and Atasha Muhlach were also spotted with the Bonnie during their respective travels.

A slew of heartthrobs has also added the Bonnie to their summertime wardrobes. On Thai stars like Pond Naravit, Win Metawin, Blue Pongtiwat, Off Jumpol, and BUS Khunpol, the sand-and-mustard colorway proves to be a favored accent to their casual OOTDs. The same can be said for Prada friends and Korean stars Jaehyun and Byeon Woo Seok.

Of course, the ladies have also gotten their fix of the Bonnie. A multi-textural east-west version has earned nods from Sana of TWICE, Taiwanese artist Ivy Shao, and Thai stars Namtan Tipnaree, Ploi Horwang, and Bow Maylada.
