Over the weekend, K-drama heartthrob Park Seo Joon understandably broke the internet when he posted yet another adorable photo of him and his insta-famous dog named Simba on Instagram. (ICYMI, his last post of them together went viral a week ago because of his pet’s cuteness and the actor’s toned arm.) This time around though, our eyes went straight to his feet—yup, those are definitely the limited-edition Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior Sneakers!
FYI, these Dior x Nike kicks are so elusive that the French fashion house even released very specific guidelines about how to snag a pair. Designed by the brand’s creative director Kim Jones, the classic Air Jordan gets a luxe treatment that features a no-nonsense white and gray colorway and is emblazoned with Nike’s inimitable swoosh logo that’s rendered in Dior’s iconic Oblique monogram. Mind you, even the sole is stamped with "DIOR."
The exact pair PSJ is wearing in the photo is priced at $2,200 or approximately P108,603, but these designer kicks are so in-demand that sneakerheads from all over the world are willing to shell out so much more. Case in point: Christian “Big Boy” Cheng, the first Filipino who got dibs on these limited-edition Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior Sneakers, reportedly paid P850,000 for them. Now that’s about eight times more than the original cost! As of press time, registration to purchase one of the initially released 8,500 pairs is already closed on the microsite. So to get your hands on these kicks is practically like winning a lottery!
But how lucky is Park Seo Joon exactly? Well, the Hallyu star—who wore the covetable sneaks with a simple gray cotton T-shirt, knee-length denim cutoffs, and Supreme socks—even got a personal handwritten letter from Kim Jones himself, so yeah, no biggie! The note reads: "Dear Seo Joon Park, we trust you and your family are well and safe and we hope that your pair of Dior x Nike Air Jordan 1 will help you to feel more comfortable during this time. We miss you and we hope to see you soon. With love, Kim and your friends at Dior."
If you take a closer look at one of the photos he posted, you’ll notice that even Simba is actually wearing a Dior collar, too! Oh, how we love this fashionable duo!
