There's never a dull moment in Miss Universe. While the Philippines' bet for this year, Gazini Ganados, failed to advance beyond the top 20, it seems local pageant fans have gone into a frenzy over a different reason.
As the top 10 girls rolled out onto the stage for the evening gown segment, viewers pointed out similarities between Miss Thailand Paweensuda Drouin's red, high-slit number to Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray's lava-inspired Mak Tumang gown from last year.
Netizens immediately voiced out their qualms over the seeming coincidence.
One Twitter user even collated a few of Miss Thailand's key looks throughout her Miss Universe pageant journey and compared the photos side-by-side with that of Catriona's.
Miss Thailand made it to this year's top five but failed to advance any further.
