His celebrity muse, Pia Wurtzbach, flew all the way to the U.S. to walk on the runway.

It's been exactly a decade since Mark Bumgarner left the racing industry to pursue fashion design full-time.  During those 10 years, he has undeniably achieved several milestones, from dressing sought-after style stars like Heart Evangelista and Aishwarya Rai to producing numerous memorable runway shows. In fact, most recently, Mark has debuted another show-stopping collection as a proud Filipino fashion designer in Los Angeles Fashion Week

Incorporating intricate embellishments, draped silhouettes, and bright hues in his Spring/Summer 2024 collection, Mark certainly pulled out all the stops for his first-ever showcase in California. His muse Pia Wurtzbach even flew all the way to America just to grace the catwalk and cap off the runway finale!

Check out the highlights of his showcase as you read through our exclusive interview with Mark ahead.

"The collection starts with soft colors like blush, chartreuse, and dusty blue, and then shifts to black and white. Creating the color palette took some trial and error, but I like trying new colors like chartreuse, and I'm happy with how it turned out."

Pia Wurtzbach flew all the way to America just to do the finale walk for your show. Can you tell us more about the particular dress she wore and why you chose her to wear it?

"Pia flew in directly from Paris Fashion Week. We were actually working on her dress while she was there and we were only able to fit her gown the day before the show. Our goal was to make her look snatched and I think we accomplished that!"

Lastly, how did it feel to represent the Philippines in Los Angeles?

"I'm happy to have had the opportunity for my first LA show and look forward to doing more in future."
