Manila FAME, the country's premier lifestyle and design trade event is back with another edition which is set to open this October 17 and run until October 19 at the World Trade Center in Metro Manila. Manila FAME is known for its mission in showcasing the best of Filipino craftsmanship and design ingenuity.

That said, this year's theme takes a retrospective look into our Filipino design heritage with an onward and modern interpretation to ride today's time and lifestyle. "There has been a surge of nostalgia and reimagining of iconic and heritage design pieces in recent years. It is through this yearning for creative rebirth that we highlight the inherent beauty and distinct creativity of Filipino culture,” says Pauline Suaco-Juan, Executive Director of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).

Below, we list down five things to look forward to at this year's Manila FAME edition:

1. This is Manila FAME's 70th edition.

"Featuring over 300 home and lifestyle brands, Manila FAME prides itself as the second longest-running trade show in Asia Pacific and the only Filipino trade event recognized by the Union des Foires Internationales, a Paris-based group of the world’s leading trade show organizers."

2. Design Commune takes center stage.

Under the creative direction of Vince Uy, the merchandise development program and curated exhibition space is back to highlight the best of the best. This is done with the support from seasoned design consultants such as Stanley Ruiz, Andrè Chang, Nix Alañon, Kitty Bunag and Mia de Lara.
