Being a public figure for more than half of her life, Heart Evangelista is obviously no stranger to criticism. Out of every negative remark that can be thrown at her, though, some of the most ridiculous ones have to do with the multi-hyphenate celebrity's age.
In an exclusive interview for Pond's Age Miracle line, Heart stated that when she turned 30, people already began calling her "old" and had the future of her career doubted from that point, too. "I think we tend to become really hard on each other," she said.
In fact, even her style has become the subject of conversation. She shared, "When I got married people expected, 'Ah, you shouldn't dress that way anymore 'cause you're married.'"
People have also questioned her jet setting, asking the actress why she was traveling more instead of having a baby at her age.
Now 36 years old, Heart admits that unfortunately, not much has changed. "It's totally something I hear even up to this day," she revealed. But instead of heeding these comments, she did the opposite and carved her own path.
"You shouldn't care so much about what other people think, because there are more people that will be inspired with how you live your life [when] you really live your life to the fullest...You can actually dictate the situation by living your life to the fullest and just letting them watch if they want to."
Despite the criticism she receives, Heart has fully embraced getting older. "I feel I am the best version of myself today and that wouldn't happen if I didn't get older. I also feel that I was able to achieve my dreams now that I'm older. As you get older, better things and greater things happen," she explained.
Lastly, she offered some sage advice to those who still worry about aging. "We have so many products honestly that is available that you just have to use. Love yourself and make sure that you make time for self-care. That's number one."
She added, "It's just really a different perspective. And believe me, if you do have a good outlook or if you have a positive vibe, all the good things are going to happen, so there's nothing to be afraid of."
