There are two compelling reasons for why a fashion girl should get into DIY-ing: a) to develop new skills amid the quarantine, and b) to curb the impulse to shop just about every new trend that comes her way. Besides, it's so empowering to be able to create the things you want to wear, ranging from personalized accessories to trendy tops.
That said, here are five beginner-friendly fashion hobbies you can get into ASAP!
1. Beading
We're pretty sure you've been seeing all the candylike, Y2k-accessories being peddled across Instagram. They're all so adorable, and actually super fun to make! All you have to do is purchase a beading kit and get started.

2. Knitting and Crochet
Crochets and knits are all the rage at the moment. They're actually more flexible than you think–a crocheter or knitter need not limit herself to napkin tops and coasters. You can follow patterns for color-blocked puff-sleeved tops, chunky sweater vests, and more!

3. Tie Dye
You know that boring plain tee rotting away in the bottom of your closet? It doesn't have to stay boring for long. Our goal is to ensure we cleanse our closets of garments we're positive we won't be wearing any time soon. Sometimes, that means donating or discarding old clothes. Other times, that means upcycling.
Tie-dying is an easy way to upgrade plain clothes that you just can't part ways with! You can purchase a tie-dye kit online for cheap, and hop on YouTube for in-depth instructions.

4. Basic Sewing
If you've considered learning to sew but have never gotten around to it, this is your chance to start doing so. The rising popularity of thrift flips are proof that there's a lot of untapped potential lurking in ukay-ukays, and even in our own closets!
YouTubers like With Wendy offer fun tutorials on exciting sewing projects, so if you're looking to finally learn how to crop all your over-long blouses, consider this a sign!
