Are Dunks Back? Say Hello to the Dior Roadie Shoes
Dior’s sneaker of the season signals a return to 2010s street style.

It seems the trend cycle is edging past Y2K nostalgia and toward a revival of the 2010s.
Beyond the 2016 throwback trend, even the decade’s most coveted pieces are reentering the style conversation. From skinny jeans and bandage dresses to the Valentino Rockstud and Balenciaga City bag, the direction is clear: the 2010s nostalgia wave is upon us.
Within the streetwear scene, one of the era’s defining shoe silhouettes was the dunk.
A brief history of the dunks
First introduced by Nike in 1985, the basketball-meets-lifestyle sneaker has since inspired variations across labels. A typical dunk features a lace-up closure, a padded collar, and an often exaggerated tongue. Seen in both high-top and low-profile versions, the shoe is finished with a rubber outsole and foam midsole for comfort.
The 2010s also marked the rise of the dunk as a collector’s item. Its popularity can be traced to a wave of collaborations between luxury houses and sportswear giants—most notably the Dior x Nike Air Jordan 1’s and the Nike x Rick Owens high-cut dunks. By the late 2000s into the early 2010s, the silhouette had become a staple among street style enthusiasts.
Now, a little over a decade later, the chunky profile appears poised for a return.
Case in point: at Dior Men’s Spring/Summer 2026, Jonathan Anderson introduced footwear that echoed the dunk's relaxed structure.
About the Dior Roadie
The Dior Roadie is described by the house as a “fashion statement,” conceived as a cross between a casual sneaker and the house’s signature brand of elegance.
Debuted as a signature piece in Jonathan’s first presentation for Dior, the design toys around familiar menswear codes. Its supple build features panels of mesh-effect printed suede, giving it a tactile, layered look.
Straddling the line between high-top sneaker and classic driver, it carries a deconstructed, work-in-progress feel, defined by hand-stitched seams and raw edges.
The construction includes a two-part, ultra-flexible rubber outsole and a padded collar that follows the foot’s natural movement. Details such as an engraved Cannage motif for grip and a hot-stamped Dior logo on the tongue complete the design.
How Much Are the Dior Roadie Shoes?
For Spring/Summer 2026, the Dior Roadie arrives in six colorways rendered in a palette of muted, earthy tones—brown, gray, dark green, beige, and black. On the Dior website, each pair is priced at P70,000.
The style is also stocked in boutiques worldwide as part of the current seasonal offering. In the Philippines, Dior has physical locations at Greenbelt 3 in Makati, The Shoppes at Solaire in Parañaque City, and The Mall at NUSTAR Cebu.
