10 Cozy and Chic Sweater Vest OOTDs, As Seen on Local Influencers

Given the country’s typically hot and humid climate, the thought of wearing sweaters outside of the ber-months seems to be an absurd notion. After all, why would anyone want to feel that stiffly, sweaty feeling of being garbed in layers—even if it does mean looking stylish?

The solution to this sartorial challenge? Why, a sweater vest, of course! These tops are the perfect piece to stay breezy thanks to their sleeveless nature while still offering that cozy touch because of their knitted fabric. Oh, and they also make great layering pieces over a lightweight shirt so that we can at least pretend that we experience the changing of seasons!

Known for her cute, Y2K aesthetic, the influencer opted for a vest that had a playful twist to it with its collar and button-down details. Ashley’s morena skin tone also really popped thanks to the light green shade of her top! 

2. A black and white color scheme will never fail you, and Toni Sia is here to prove it! She paired her baggy monochrome sweater vest with a black mini skirt for a chic and coordinated ensemble. Of course, the queen of coffee-colored dressing couldn’t help adding a few touches of brown to her OOTD with her Dior Saddle bag and a pair of tall brown boots.  

3. ICYDK, sweater vests also make a great loungewear look! Because these pieces are both incredibly comfy and easy to throw on, you can easily rely on them when you’re planning on spending a day at home. Just like Bianca Gan, you can pair a sweater vest with a cute pair of lounge shorts and warm socks if you want to look chic while relaxing. 

4. A casual yet stylish ‘fit you might want to try on your next trip to a museum is a sweater vest partnered with an oversized shirt underneath. Here, Ashley Yap made a case for layers by styling her black sweater vest over a striped button-down shirt. To balance out the bagginess of her top, the influencer teamed it with a pair of biker shorts and finished off her look with black combat boots.

5. If you’re looking for a more classic pattern for your sweater vest, then try one in a houndstooth print that will immediately give off preppy vibes! Ashley once again sported this cozy piece, except this time in the duotone pattern with beige lining. She even matched her top's brown tones with a pair of neutral-colored trousers to give a low-key coordinated effect.

6. Another way to style a sweater vest is by throwing it over a fitted long-sleeved shirt for an effortlessly androgynous look. Aika Agustin shows us how it’s done as she layered her simple black sweater vest over a white long-sleeved top. The influencer then chose to tuck her vest into a pair of faded black jeans to keep in line with her casual getup.

7. For the hubadera dressers out there, a cropped sweater vest is your new comfy companion. You can wear it on its own just like Ashley Del Mundo here who wore one in a cream-colored cropped version. If you want to further emphasize your figure, do as the actress does and team it with some low-waist jeans to flaunt even more skin.

8. A more modest way to rock a cropped sweater vest is by layering a shirt underneath but leaving a few buttons undone to still give your ensemble a subtly sultry vibe.
