Who doesn’t love a weekend of rest and recreation by the beach? Basking in the sun and breathing in fresh air—or as digital natives would say, “touching grass”—is a surefire way to reset your mind.

Visiting the seaside, however, often comes with the misconception that it requires baring a lot of skin. Not everyone is comfortable with that, and it could be one reason some shy away from spending time in nature. But that’s not always the case! As Camille Co shows, a preference for modest dressing is no reason to miss out on a much-needed, sun-soaked trip.

A Conservative Girl’s Guide to Dressing for the Beach, As Seen on Camille Co

The online fashion maven recently paid a visit to Boracay with her family, enjoying quiet and peaceful days.

Throughout their stay, Camille balanced comfort and style as she donned various outfits that showed just the right amount of skin. Here’s how you can stick to your personal style while dressing appropriately for the beach setting.

Invest in one-piece swimwear.

Wearing a one-piece suit doesn’t mean looking boring. Go for cuts and designs that flatter your body type and match your personal style. For the trip, Camille packed a chic black monokini with a V-neckline and scrunched chest detail. She styled her hair in a sleek braided ponytail and finished the look with a necklace and dangling earrings that added a tropical touch.

She also brought a dark red one-piece, with a halter neckline that created a nice and neat ruched line—all while providing full chest coverage.

Bring a breezy button-down.

Camille exuded beachside elegance in a royal blue plunge swimsuit. While spending time on the sand and under the sun, she layered a breathable button-down. Its oversized fit provided coverage for her arms and flowed below her hips, proving that comfort doesn’t have to be compromised.

Balance your skin exposure.

Of course, you can’t expect to be fully covered at the beach—turtlenecks and skinny jeans can surely wait. To nail a modest look, it’s all about balancing how much skin you show in one outfit. For instance, Camille wore a backless mini dress as a cover-up, but it featured a high boat neckline and long bell sleeves.

Accessorize with tropical elements.

No matter what you’re wearing, you won’t look out of place with the right accessories. Beaded necklaces and woven totes are fun options to consider, as seen throughout Camille’s short and sweet vacation.

Pack maxi dresses.

Efficient resort packing means bringing pieces that transition seamlessly from day to night. Camille’s vacation dresses feature billowy yet flattering silhouettes, vibrant colors, and intricate patterns that make her look both relaxed and put-together.
