I don't know about you, but Start-Up has recently taken over my weekends. Eight episodes in, and I'm head over heels with the story, the romance and pursuit of success, and of course, the fashion! Take Seo Dal-mi's (Bae Suzy) easy, nonchalant style for example. While she holds a CEO position, we're thrilled to know that she still favors comfy footwear. Apart from a cool collection of arm candies, Dal-mi also loves a good pair of kicks.
To be honest, her style actually reminds us of another K-drama character! Remember detective Jung Tae-eul (Kim Go Eun) from The King: Eternal Monarch? We also fell in love with her daily uniform of streetwear picks you'll honestly want to steal!
Well, if you've got a soft spot for the two K-drama leading ladies, then we're glad to report that they also happen to favor the same pair of sneakers! The detective and the start-up CEO both love a good old pair of Converse Chuck 70s. But make no mistake: They're not one to fall for your usual neutral-colored sneakers. In fact, Dal-mi and Tae-eul are into a sunny yellow pair. See how they styled their Chucks below.
Dal-mi opted for a dainty look to wear to Nam Do-san's (Nam Joo Hyuk) birthday celebration. She wore a knit lilac sweater paired with a long white skirt. To counter the frilly look, Dal-mi slipped on a pair of casual yellow sneakers for a more laidback look.
Meanwhile, Tae-eul has chosen to lean towards the shoe's easy and relaxed vibe by matching it with a nice mustard flannel shirt and loose, cuffed jeans. If you ask us, Tae-eul's laidback look was definitely elevated by her marigold sneakers. Her departure from the usual neutral sneakers helped brightened her 'fit—essentially making a strong case for strategic colored kicks.
