There's no need to be stuck at level zero with your streetwear cred. Whenever new trends come up, keeping up shouldn't mean burning a hole in your pocket! You can pretty much DIY everything, and to back up our claims, we have three streetwear-inspired DIY ideas from Maya Nilsen and Julia Dang of The Lineup. They're all about how to work your denims for the summer, and we're definitely on board! Check them out below:
1. Flame details
This black and white take on flames is super chic. Breathe new life into your old pair of jeans by painting on its hems!
2. Frayed hems
IMAGE Charles Rodulfo
The distressed jeans trend is alive and kicking, and currently, it's all about the uneven frayed hem. It's a genius cut that shows off a bit of shin that the petite population will appreciate. We spotted these jeans at Vero Moda's Spring/Summer 2017 collection as well, so if you don't have time for a DIY project, you can get a pair fresh off the racks!
3. Vetements-inspired side stripes
Vetements' side-striped track pants have served proper athleisure inspo since its debut. But for a subtle refresh that'll save you some cash, you can simply sew orange bands onto your old jeans. Easy peasy!
