With a panoramic view of Metro Manila before them, Leila Alcasid and Mito "Curtismith" Fabie wed anew.
The couple first tied the knot at a garden ceremony in Sydney, Australia, earlier this year. About six months later, the two chose to renew their love for one another, this time in front of their closest kin in the Philippines. Getting married again—and in their shared hometown, no less—was a perfect opportunity to honor their Filipino roots through the ensembles they wore.
For the bride, that meant finally wearing her "dream" wedding gown, crafted by Vania Romoff, a designer who has dressed her for some of life’s biggest milestones. In a Preview-exclusive interview, Leila opens up about the look and what it means to her to become Mrs. Fabie all over again.
Leila Alcasid's Wedding Looks for Her Antipolo Ceremony
Practicality was one of the main drivers behind Leila and Mito's choice to hold another wedding. During their ceremony last May, the couple was joined by their immediate family members as witnesses, including Leila's parents, Ogie Alcasid and Michelle van Eimeren, as well as her stepmother, Regine Velasquez. The same group was present at their nuptials at Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo, this time joined by the rest of their kin based in the Philippines. "We still [wanted] them to enjoy the day with us and celebrate," Leila says.
Beyond the extended guest list, Leila was pampered by her Manila-based glam team for this wedding. While she had successfully done her own makeup for her Sydney ceremony, she entrusted Anthea Bueno to create her bridal glow this time around. Jay Aquino was in charge of perfecting her tresses, which were highlighted in pre-ceremony snaps lensed by Nice Print Photography.

One of the highlights of the event was Leila's bridal frock, thoughtfully designed by Vania Romoff. The muse and maker have a long history, with Leila almost always donning Vania's work during pivotal moments in her life.
"We're always about the women that we dress," the designer tells Preview. "And we just accentuate that beauty and help them feel beautiful." For the big occasion, Leila wore an off-shoulder gown crafted from silk organza, rendered in a pristine ivory hue. The bodice of the dress was delicately pleated by hand and twisted in the front, creating a unique shape that flattered Leila's figure. The train cascaded to the floor, merging with the diaphanous veil as the bride approached her groom step by step.
Leila describes her personal style as classic, relaxed, and chic—qualities that Vania echoed in the gown she created. It was simple, yet it represented everything the 28-year-old was. "She's the perfect Vania Romoff bride," the designer gushes.

Prior to the wedding, Leila's mom, Michelle, was able to see the gown swathed around her little girl during a fitting. "Ang ganda-ganda niya!" she exclaimed.
Having witnessed her daughter grow up, she attests that Leila has always been one to stay true to her style—which is most evident in her bridal look. "It's wonderful to see her so happy being herself and not feeling that she has to conform to an idea of what's expected," Michelle says. She gets emotional talking about Leila and Mito's matrimony in Manila, emphasizing how the Philippines has always been home to them.
