It’s official: Kim Seon Ho is finally returning to our screens with a full length K-drama! After speculations set the internet abuzz last December, tvN has confirmed that the Start-Up alum will star alongside Shin Min Ah for the network’s upcoming drama titled Seashore Village Cha Cha Cha.
We know you’ve been dying to see our favorite “good boy” grace the TV again ever since his Run On cameo, so without further ado, here’s everything we know so far about Seon Ho’s upcoming Korean series:

1. Kim Seon Ho is acting opposite one talented leading lady, Shin Min Ah.
As mentioned above, the lucky lady set to play opposite Seon Ho is none other than veteran star Shin Min Ah. Seon Ho’s undeniably fortunate to have her as an on-screen partner as well, mind you. Because FYI, Min Ah is an accomplished award-winning actress and model best known for her roles on My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho and Oh My Venus. You can also find her top-billing other K-dramas such as Tomorrow with You, Chief of Staff, The Devil, and A Love to Kill.
Described as the “perfect rom-com lineup,” the pair is expected to demonstrate an irresistible kind of chemistry, as per Seashore Village Cha Cha Cha’s production team. “Not only will Shin Min Ah and Kim Seon Ho show surprisingly high synchronization with their characters, but the bubbly yet warm story will also provide comfort,” they further said in a statement. “Please look forward to their rom-com chemistry that is bound to make hearts flutter.”

2. The plot is perfect for rom-com fans.
If Seon Ho made your heart flutter as Han Ji-pyeong on Start-Up, then you’ll absolutely go crazy for him on Seashore Village Cha Cha Cha. He is the main lead, after all, which obviously means more screen time!
Now let’s talk plot. Based on the 2004 South Korean romantic comedy film, Mr. Hong, this upcoming drama follows Yoon Hye Jin (Shin Min Ah), a picture-perfect woman who works as a well-respected dentist. Her seemingly ideal life falls to shambles when she loses her job, leading her to move to the seaside village of Gongjin. In the midst of attempting to restart her career, she crosses paths with, and eventually develops a fondness for, Hong Doo Shik (Kim Seon Ho), who’s popularly known in the area as Mr. Hong. Although unemployed, Mr. Hong is a jack of all trades and can take on any odd job if it means helping out the locals of Gongjin.
ICYDK, the original film starred Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim Joo Hyuk as Hye Jin and Mr. Hong, respectively.
3. The drama will be helmed by an impressive team.
Set to helm the film is director Yoo Je Won. You’re most probably familiar with his work on famous K-dramas like The King: Eternal Monarch and Hi Bye, Mama. He’s also previously worked with Min Ah on her 2017 romantic drama, Tomorrow with You. Meanwhile, penning the script is Shin Ha Eun, whose best credit to date involves co-writing the screenplay for the historical romance series The Crowed Clown.
4. “Seashore Village Cha Cha Cha” is slated to premiere in the second half of 2021.
If production goes as planned, you won’t have to wait long for this K-drama as it’s reportedly scheduled to launch in the latter half of this year. So exciting!
