Many innovations in the digital age were designed to provide convenience for users. AirDrop, a built-in feature in Apple devices, is an example. Simply put, it enables users to share and receive files—photos, videos, notes, documents, and the like—with other nearby Apple devices. It’s fast, wireless, and direct.

Less than a month ago, Samsung made an exciting announcement about a feature that could mean Android and iPhone users will finally be able to exchange files via AirDrop!

Samsung Has Introduced AirDrop Support to Select Models

AirDrop support is available in Samsung’s latest flagship phones, the Galaxy S26 series. This includes the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. The rollout started last March 23 in Korea, and it will be expanding to more regions in Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan.

The Galaxy S26 series is only the beginning. Samsung has confirmed that the feature will be available for additional devices in the future.

How to Enable AirDrop Support in Your Samsung Galaxy S26 Device

To begin, the Samsung device must have the latest iteration of Samsung One UI 8.5 and Google Play Services. It must also be the 26.11.XX version.

Once the latest software has been installed, head to the phone’s settings. Click on “Connected devices,” then select “Quick Share.” You will see “Share with Apple devices,” which indicates that it can now share with other devices that support AirDrop. Just hit the toggle button to activate it, and you’re good to go.
